SALISBURY, Md. – The Wesley College women's track & field team finished fifth at the 2018 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Ashley Morris won the CAC Championship in the 100-meter hurdles. She cruised to a win in the event with a personal best time of 14.74 seconds, almost a full second faster than the second-place time.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Quadira Minus, Briana Artis, Briyanna Woods and Maysha Foster picked up the CAC title in the event with a time of 3:57.82. Artis, Foster, Rakiya Taylor and Evelina Sloboh placed second in the 4x100-meter relay, finishing in 47.84 seconds.
Lekeshia Brown-Myrick earned second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.52 meters (37-9.50), a personal record.
Taylor recorded a pair of third-place finishes in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Taylor finished the 100 in 12.33 seconds and the 200 in 25.76 seconds.
Shaniel Thomas notched a fourth-place effort in the 100-meter hurdles with a time in 15.92 seconds.
Foster (12.45) and Sloboh (12.48) placed 4-5 in the 100-meter dash. Foster also turned in a sixth-place time in the 200 meters, finishing in 26.81 seconds.
Woods (58.96) registered fifth place in the 400-meter dash.
Jourdyn Beverly placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 11.29 meters (37-0.5).
As a team, Wesley totaled 94 points. Christopher Newport won the CAC title with 144 team points.
The Wolverines will be back on the track on Monday, May 14 when they take part in the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet.
