ARLINGTON, Va. – The Wesley College women's soccer team blanked the Marymount Saints, 1-0 to wrap up the regular season in an Atlantic East Conference road contest.
Wesley didn't waste any time getting on board. In the third minute of the game, Emily Caldarelli played a through ball down the right side of the field to Mackenzie Forsythe. Forsythe made a move past the defender and slotted the shot past the Marymount keeper for her 19th goal of the season and fifth consecutive game with a goal.
The Wesley defense held the Marymount offense at bay. Both teams would notch six shots on goal but Isabelle Fabris stopped all the shots that came her way to earn her fifth win and second clean sheet on the season.
Wesley finished the regular season 9-3-2 and 4-1-1 in the conference to clinch the second seed and a first-round bye in next week's Atlantic East Conference Championship Tournament. Wesley will play the highest remaining seed in the semifinals of the conference tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. at Drass Field.
