DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College women's soccer blanked the Washington Adventist University Shock at home on Wednesday by a final score of 4-0.
Aleya Cummings would start the scoring early in the first half for the Wolverines. Five minutes into the game, Aline Check would play a through-ball past the Shock defense and Cummings would rip it past the Shock goalkeeper. Then in the 30th minute, Cummings would steal the ball away from the Shock defense off a failed clear and blast the ball into the back of the net.
Janiah Moore would add the third goal of the game just over a minute later as she would make a move in the box and curl the ball near post around the goalkeeper.
Two minutes into the second half, Cummings would net her third and final goal of the night from a long through-ball played in by Jaimilyn Snyder from the midfield
The Wolverines are back in action Saturday, Sept. 23 as they host the Frostburg State Bobcats in their first conference game of the season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium.
