WASHINGTON, D.C. – Wesley College's women's soccer team blanked Trinity Washington University, 10-0, on Saturday afternoon in our Nation's Capital. With five-straight wins, the Wolverines are now 7-1 on the season.
Lauren Price and Chelsi Biener both scored a pair of goals while Biener also added an assist to lead the attack while Megan DeFalco, Kaitlyn Ennis and Christina Verzi all tallied a goal and an assist.
Price recorded Wesley's first two goals, with the game-winner coming 1:30 in on a pass from Verzi. Price gave the Wolverines a two-goal lead in the 11th minute via the unassisted variety.
Less than two minutes later, Biener found Ennis for a score and Wesley would add five more goals before the half on scores by five different players (Biener, DeFalco, Kristen Griffith, Natalie Trujillo and Eliza Danielak). Morgan Warrington assisted on DeFalco and Griffith's tallies and added a save in her 62 minutes of action between the pipes.
Summer Stone also played 28 minutes in goal for the Wolverines but did not face a shot as Wesley took 35 shots compared to just a pair for Trinity.
Wesley opens CAC play on Saturday, September 27 when it travels to Christopher Newport for a 1 pm start.
