Scoring did not begin until Wesley's Darius-David Robinson scored on a penalty kick with ten minutes left in the first. He tricked the Knights goalkeeper into pivoting to the left allowing him to score in the lower right side of the net for a Wolverine lead, 1-0.

Wesley's defense came to play today at Drass Field and held the Knights off until 15 seconds remained in the game. Neumann's Matt Brown struggled through a cluster of Wolverines to score from 30 yards out to tie the game, 1-1.

The first overtime neither team was able to get a shot in bringing the game into double overtime.

The Wolverines took one shot before Justin John-Langba got a hold of the ball inside a cluster of Knights off a free kick from Tyler Killenbeck, to score the game winning goal, 2-1.

The Wolverines outshot the Knights 8-7. Jason Sommer in goal with the win and two saves.

Comments from the coach

"We knew that playing the same team just a few teasm after youve already played them would be a different experience and it was. I thought we came out well we got the goal we were lookign for but then missed some chances to close the game down. I give Neumann credit as they battled and fought the whole game through and then for us to give up the game tying goal with 15 seconds left was almost heartbreaking. But again great character on this team and they said this is not over we are going to win. Justin has scored some key goals for us and he hung in there today for a great game winning goal". Coach Clark

The Wolverines will now head to the top seed Cabrini in the Atlantic East Semifinals on Tuesday, November 5th at 7:00 p.m. Earlier in the season the Wolverines lost at Cabrini 1-2 in overtime and now have to quickly recover from this tough fought win over Neumann. Cabrini will face a lot of pressure from the Wolverines on Tuesday after their team has had a full week of rest.
