FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) announced their 2018 All-CAC men's basketball teams and Wesley College senior guard JW Lawson and sophomore guard Brian Cameron earned all-conference honors.
Last season's CAC Rookie of the Year, Cameron was named to the All-CAC First Team. Cameron led the CAC in scoring, averaging 20.1 points per game and totaling 523 points on the season. Cameron also tied for the CAC lead in three-point percentage (45.8), which was second-best in single-season Wesley history. He also ranked third in free-throw percentage (82.7).
Cameron also led the Wolverines with 83 assists, second in rebounding (146) and tied for third in steals (30).
Through two seasons with the Wolverines, Cameron has totaled 866 points, 20th all-time in Wesley history. He also registered 186 career free throws and 104 career three-pointers, good for 10th and 11th all-time respectively in those categories.
Lawson collected All-CAC Second Team laurels for the second time in his career. Coming off the bench this season as a sixth man, Lawson tallied 13.2 points per game, ninth-best in the CAC. Lawson had the fifth-highest field goal percentage in the league, knocking down 55 percent of his shots. He stole the ball 46 times in 2018, which was the sixth-best total in the conference.
Lawson ranked third on the Wolverines in rebounding (141) and fourth assists (45).
Lawson put together one of the best careers in a Wesley uniform. Lawson is sixth on the all-time scoring list, tallying 1,291 points. He's also tied for seventh in career steals (169) and 15th in career rebounding (430).
The Wolverines finished the 2017-18 season 13-13 overall and 9-9 in the CAC to qualify for their 11th consecutive berth in the CAC Championship Tournament.
