What: AEC Field Hockey Semifinal Game

When: Wednesday, November 6

How it happened

After defeating Neumann 4-0 on October 30th, the Wolverines earned a bye week to prepare for the AEC semifinal match up against Gwynedd Mercy. Earlier in the season the Wolverines defeated the Griffins 1-0 and were able to repeat that win tonight.

Scoring did not take off until the second quarter when Wesley's Julie Snow dribbled the ball to the top of the circle, dumped the pass to her right to Carly Setting who sent the ball back across the cage to Snow at stroke for the goal.

The Wolverines defense played remarkable and held the Griffins off the entire game while the offense-maintained possession for most of the game for a Wolverine win 1-0.

Comments from the Coach

"What an exciting game- to play and for the fans to watch! I thought both teams brought their A-Game. We are very happy for the players to come away with the victory. The goal by 2 freshman (Julie Snow and Carly Setting) showed how far this team has come. Defensively, we were solid and did what we needed to do to keep them out of the goal. we are all very excited to be back in the championship game. It is a great expereince for all of our players".
