Field Hockey Drops 3-1 Decision to Roanoke

SALEM, Va. – The Wolverines now 2-1 overall, continued their weekend road trip today at Roanoke but fell short.

Things got off to a quick start for Roanoke when Martha Hurley found the net assisted by Emilee Wooten to take the lead 1-0 in the first period.

Wesley's defense held strong and didn't allow The Maroons to score again until the fourth period.

Kaila Hindt made the only goal of the game on a pass up the middle from Madison Cook. Hindt also led the Wolverines in shots on goal with six, followed by Jessica Behornar with two (SOG).

Lauren Berry faced 14 shots on goal and registered 11 saves.

Wesley outshot the Maroons 23-18 but fell short in shots on goal, 12-14.   

The Wolverines are back in action Saturday, September 14th as they head to Hood College. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
