Wesley opens season at DSU Hornet Invitational

SMYRNA, Del. – The Wesley College men's and women's cross country team opened their 2017 season on Saturday at the Delaware State Hornet Invitational.

Natalie Quigley led all Wesley runners, placing seventh in the women 5k with a time of 21:35.3. Elizsha Streeter (28th 24:17.3), Mercedes Myrick (32nd, 25:02.9) and Quadira Minus (33rd, 25:21.3) also placed in the top 35 of the women's field.

Anthony Anastasi was the top male finisher for Wesley, finishing 15th with a time of 17:36.2. William Brighton Dawson placed 22nd (18:11.4) and Ja'mier Bailey finished in 23rd place (18:22.4).

In a field of Division I opponents, the men finished in fourth place while the women placed fifth. 

The Wolverines will be back in action Friday, Sept. 15 when they head back out to Smyrna to participate in Del State's Farm Run Invitational.
