WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wesley College volleyball team split two matches as part of a tri-match on Saturday with the Medgar Evers Cougars and the Wilkes Colonials.
Wesley opened the tri-match with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-3, 25-9) sweep of the Medgar Evers Cougars.
Regan Healey led the attack for Wesley with 10 kills on 19 attempts. She also added six digs and three aces. Elisa Hackendorn and Mary Getty each tallied seven kills. Getty dropped in six service aces while Hackendown had a block assist.
Allison Mills tallied a team-high nine digs and three service aces. Jenna Burchfield and Lexus Christopher each recorded four service aces. Lindsay Burg dished out 17 assists with two aces while Teaghen Vogelsang handed out 11 assists.
Wesley battled with Wilkes in the final game of the tri-match but dropped the match in four sets, 25-11, 25-27, 25-13, 25-20.
Burg registered her fourth double-double of the season with 24 assists and a season-high 22 digs. Allison Mills collected 22 digs on defense.
Hackendorn notched a team-best 13 kills along with nine digs and a block assist. Healey, Getty and Micah Wright all chipped in with six kills. Healey added a team-high 25 digs.
The Wolverines have a quick turnaround as they play another tri-match at home on Sunday against the Washington Adventist Shock and the Valley Forge Patriots. The action from Wentworth Gymnasium is set to be underway at 11 a.m.
