Burg, Tynes double-doubles lift volleyball over St. Mary’s

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Wesley College women's volleyball team picked up their first Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) victory of the season with a four-set win (27-25, 25-13, 18-25, 25-21) over the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks on Friday.

The Wolverines were paced by double-doubles by Jessica Tynes and Lindsay Burg. Tynes collected 20 digs and a team-high 13 kills. Tynes also added two block assists. Burg dished out 20 assists while digging out 11 attacks.

Tionne Graves-Brown notched 14 digs and eight kills. Tania Rounds and Nya Lightfoot each tallied seven kills while Rounds totaled five digs and four blocks.

Nadia Hopkins dropped in six kills on nine attacks. Courtney Olson and Regan Healey each recorded five kills in the winning effort.

Caelli Clifford dug out a match-high 24 attacks for the Wolverines. Teaghen Vogelsang handed out a team-high 28 assists along with seven digs.

As a team, the Wolverines had a hitting percentage of .208.

Hannah Krauss had 13 kills for the Seahawks.

The Wolverines will continue their final CAC road trip of the season when they head to Arlington, Va. on Saturday to take on the Marymount Saints. The match is scheduled for a noon start.
