BALTIMORE – The Wesley College women's track & field team placed sixth at the two-day 2018 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Johns Hopkins University.
Wesley swept the sprints. Rakiya Taylor won the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Taylor clocked in at 12.29 seconds in the 100 and 24.96 seconds in the 200. Both times are personal bests. Her 200-meter time is the best time in the Mideast Region and 26th in Division III while 100-meter time is the fourth-fastest time in the Mideast Region.
Briyanna Woods picked up a win in the 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 57.63 seconds, fourth-best in the Mideast Region.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Woods, Briana Artis, Victoria Robinson and Quadira Minus crossed the line in second place, finishing in 4:02.24. Robinson also placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.64, a personal record.
Evelina Sloboh turned in a third-place time in the 100-meter dash, crossing the line in 12.39 seconds.
Lekeshia Brown-Myrick notched sixth place in the triple jump with a mark of 10.81 meters (35-5.75).
As a team, the Wolverines collected 50 points. Johns Hopkins won the team title.
