Women’s Track Turns in Record Points at CAC Championship, Finishes 4th Overall

YORK, Pa. – Led by sophomore Elizsha Streeter and three school-records on Sunday afternoon, the Wesley College women's track & field team finished fourth at the Capital Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Graham Field.  The Wolverines tallied 107.50 points which is a program-record for the Navy & White at the conference championships.

Streeter opened her day with a leg on the winning 4x100m Relay which finished in 48.66. Streeter was joined by sophomores Kameko Webb and Angel Hall, along with freshman Ashley Morris.  The Hagerstown, Md., native then edged Hall by five-hundredths of a second to win the 400m Dash in 57.72, and then came right back the very next race to take second in the 100m Dash (12.42). 

After another short recovery, Streeter won the 200m Dash in 25.46 while Hall took third in 26.02.  To close out the day, Streeter ran the fastest leg on the 4x400m Relay that won gold in 3:58.84.  Accompanying Streeter on the relay was freshmen Quadira Minus and Chiquita Deline as well as sophomore Danae Carter.

Aside from the relays, Minus, Morris and Deline also scored in individual events with Minus taking fourth in the 400m Dash in 59.47 while Morris finished fourth in both the 100m hurdles and 100m dash in times of 15.40 and 13.13, respectively.  Deline placed sixth in the 400m dash in 1:01.40, giving Wesley four of the top six finishers in the event.

Webb also won her first-ever individual conference championship in the long jump with a mark of 17-11 while classmate Dieunise Desir earned All-CAC honors with a second place performance in the 3,000m Steeplechase in a school-record 11:55.57.

Two other school-records were set in the field events with Taylor Rae Danforth taking sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 121' 10".  Shocking the field on the day was Kierra Dukes who took fifth in the high jump, clearing 5' 1.75".
