Thomas Breaks School Records in Hurdles
NEWARK, Del. –Tamisha Thomas broke her own school records in the 100 and 400m hurdles on Saturday afternoon at the University of Delaware Outdoor Open at UD Stadium.
A sophomore from Philadelphia, Pa., Thomas ran a 15.71 in the 100m hurdles and a 1:13.73 in the 400m hurdles. Her time in the shorter distance broke her own Wesley-record by nearly half a second while her time in the 400m hurdles was nearly a full second faster. She finished seventh and 11 in the events, respectively, going up against several Division I programs.
Shakeiya Marshall also had a solid afternoon by pacing seventh in the 100m dash in 13.84. Twila McCrea was just one-hundredth of a second from breaking the school-record in the 400m as she crossed the finish line in 1:03.15.
Wesley's women's track & field team is back in action next weekend at the two-day Widener Invitational on April 20-21.
