Women’s Soccer falls in back-and-forth battle to Marywood in Atlantic East Semifinals

DOVER, Del. – A late goal by Marywood downed the second-seeded Wesley College women's soccer team, 1-0 in the semifinals of the Atlantic East Conference Championship Tournament on Wednesday.

Both teams battled throughout with both teams trading quality opportunities. After drawing a foul in the midfield, Marywood's Brooke Longstreet hit a long ball to the head of Madison Daches, who headed it over the goalkeeper for the lone goal of the game.

Wesley had an opportunity to tie the game in the 84th minute when Mackenzie Forsythe dribbled through the Marywood defense but her shot just went over the net.

Emily Caldarelli also had a good opportunity to tie the game in the 87th minute. Her right-footed shot hit the side of the net, just wide.

Isabelle Fabris made five saves in net for the Wolverines.

Wesley (9-4-2) now awaits an opportunity at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament.
