Women’s lacrosse win streak snapped at DelVal

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Wesley College women's lacrosse team had their season-opening five-game winning streak snapped in a close 14-12 loss to Delaware Valley on the road on Saturday.

Paige Brehm netted five goals and three assists to pace the scoring for the Wolverines. Brehm also added four ground balls and two draw controls.

Brianna Bacon and Fallon Fore each found the back of the net twice. Fore added six draw controls and an assist while Bacon scooped up two ground balls.

Bailey Grey, Tiaziah Wright and Rileigh Cypher all chipped in with a goal in the loss. Wright also assisted on a pair of goals.

Francesca Benitez and Alexis Galloway each caused three turnovers while Benitez collected a team-high five ground balls.

Shelby Schirmer stopped nine shots in goal for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines (5-1) will begin conference play on Tuesday when they host the No. 3 ranked Salisbury Sea Gulls. The opening draw from Drass Field at Miller Stadium is set for 4 p.m.
