Women's Lacrosse Drops Road Match at Neumann

ASTON, Pa. – The Wesley College women's lacrosse team fell to Neumann University, 21-9, on Monday night.  The Wolverines fall to 4-4 overall while the Knights move to 6-3 on the year.

Neumann opened the game on a 4-0 run before Kaylee Miller put Wesley on the board with 21:18 remaining in the opening half.   Unfortunately for the Wolverines, the three-goal deficit would be as close as it would get as the Knights scored six unanswered goals over the next 8:58.

Rylee Gould was able to respond with a goal for Wesley, who scored three of the next five goals and Neumann went into halftime with a 12-4 lead.  The Knights were able to extend the lead to ten goals ten minutes into the second half but Wesley fought back to cut the deficit to eight but was unable to get any closer.

Kaitlin Brennan led the Wolverines with four points on three goals and an assist while also causing a team-high four turnovers. Miller also notched a hat trick while Jorden Lutz recorded a team-high nine ground balls and seven draw controls.

Samantha Brannigan stopped seven shots in relief of Katherine Cooke in goal.

Wesley returns to action on April 2 when it travels to take on No. 1 Salisbury at 4 pm.
