DOVER, Del. – Rylee Gould scored two goals and added a school-record nine assists to help lead the Wesley women's lacrosse team to a 16-2 win over Bryn Athyn on Thursday night at Scott D. Miller Stadium.
With the win, the Wolverines improve to 3-3 overall while the Lions fall to 3-4 on the season.
The Wolverines scored 11 goals in the first half. Kaitlin Brennan, Kaylee Miller, and Jorden Lutz each snagged two goals apiece in the opening half. Gould, Kirsten Ward, Alexandra Barbieri, Alyse Obermeyer, and Jessica Giaccone each added single tallies.
An early second half goal by Bryn Athyn's Emma Gross put the Lions on the board, but the Wesley offense proved to be too strong, outscoring the Lions 5-1 for the remainder of the game. Allison Perugini added a second half goal while Lutz excelled on both sides of the ball, recording a team-high three goals along with an assist as well as seven draw controls and six caused turnovers.
Samantha Brannigan earned the goal in net, making five saves. Karla Hyatt made four saves for the Lions.
