Women’s Basketball dominates Valley Forge, 86-35

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. – The Wesley College women's basketball team were clicking on all cylinders on Thursday and earned a dominating 86-35 win on the road over the Valley Forge Patriots.

Even though Wesley controlled the whole game, the Wolverines ended the game on a 21-5 run to seal the 51-point victory.

Shelby Johnson recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She also added four steals. Johnson shot 6-of-12 from the field.

Monshea Newsome-Murray narrowly missed a triple-double, leading Wesley with 14 points, on 7-of-11 shooting, nine rebounds, eight rebounds and three steals.

Sydney Pedersen and Jameshia Baker also registered double-digit point totals in the win. Pedersen notched 11 points while Baker chipped in with 10 points off the bench. Baker and Pedersen both grabbed three rebounds and dished out two assists respectively.

Stacey O'Neale and Angelique Gathers both scored eight points off the bench while Lauryn Adams tallied seven points.

Carlee Conrad had 15 points for Valley Forge.

The Wolverines will resume Atlantic East Conference play on Saturday when they head north to Radnor, Pa. to take on the Cabrini Cavaliers. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
