Women’s basketball honors seniors against Mary Washington

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College women's basketball team stumbled at home to the Mary Washington Eagles, 86-44 on Senior Day in Capital Athletic Conference action.

Senior Tiyanna Gibbs paced the offense for Wesley with 16 points. Gibbs also grabbed eight rebounds. Coming off the bench, Monshea Newsome-Murray tallied seven points and handed out four helpers.

Shelby Johnson pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds. Johnson, Stacey O'Neale and Josette Smith each recorded six points apiece for Wesley.

Kendall Parker became Mary Washington's 20th member of the 1,000-point club when she made a layup at the end of the first quarter. Parker totaled 16 for the Eagles.

The Wolverines will be back in action this Wednesday when they host rival Salisbury in the final home game of 2018. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
