Women’s basketball falls on the road at York

YORK, Pa. – The Wesley College women's basketball team fell on the road to the York (Pa.) Spartans 83-48 on Wednesday in Capital Athletic Conference action.

Shelby Johnson recorded her second consecutive double-double for Wesley, her fourth of the season. Johnson tallied 15 points, on 7-of-11 shooting and 10 rebounds.

Tiyanna Gibbs and Monshea Newsome-Murray each registered double figures in the loss. Gibbs netted 13 points while Newsome-Murray notched 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Megan Shacklock and Stacey O'Neale chipped in with five points apiece.

Katie Wagner had 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for York.

The Wolverines return home on Saturday to take on the St. Mary's Seahawks. Tip-off of the conference game is set for 1 p.m. from Wentworth Gymnasium.
