Catholic corrals women’s basketball

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Wesley College women's basketball team dropped a 68-41 matchup on the road to the Catholic Cardinals on Sunday.

Monshea Newsome-Murray led the Wolverines with 15 points, four steals, four rebounds and three assists.

Shelby Johnson and Tiyanna Gibbs each collected six points apiece. Gibbs reeled in a team-high eight rebounds while Johnson pulled down seven boards and blocked three shots. 

Paige Hailstock recorded five points and four rebounds off the bench. 

Payton Smith had a game-high 18 points for the Cardinals. 

The Wolverines will wrap up 2017 with a non-conference clash with the St. Elizabeth Eagles on Tuesday. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. tip.
