Sheppard Runs 4th Fastest Time in School History at CAC Championship

RAPPAHANNOCK VALLEY, Va. – Carlton Sheppard ran the fourth-fastest time in school-history to lead the Wesley College men's cross country team to a 10th place finish at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships at Four Winds Golf Course on Saturday afternoon.

A junior from Baltimore, Md., Sheppard broke his personal record in the 8K (5 miles) a minute and ten seconds to cover the course in 28:09.9. Sheppard is the fifth Wolverine to crack Wesley's top ten under third-year head coach Stephen Kimes.

For the first time in school-history, five Wolverines broke the 30 minute mark in the same meet.  A pair of freshman took second and third on the team with Luis Arteaga (29:04) and Ja'mier Bailey (29:25) while sophomore Adeola James ran a 29:42, breaking his personal record by nearly a minute and a half.  Freshman Jeff Koletsky rounded out the top five with a time of 29:46.3.

Just missing the 30 minute mark was sophomore newcomer Darryl Burks (30:02) while Ben Miller finished in 32:57.
