WINCHESTER, Va. – The Wesley College men's soccer team shut out the Shenandoah Hornets, 1-0 on Wednesday to earn their eighth victory of the season.

In the first minute of the game, Danny Garza played a through ball from the middle of the field up to Chimaobi Ikwuagwu. Ikwuagwu then took the ball down the field, went one-on-one with the Hornets keeper and slipped the ball past him to give the Wolverines the early 1-0 lead.

The Wesley defense played strong again, only allowing seven shots from the Hornets, two of which were on target.

Jason Sommer tallied two saves in net to earn the clean sheet for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines (8-1) will be back in action at home Saturday, Sept. 29 when they face the No. 21 Hope Flying Dutchmen. Kickoff from Drass Field is set for 5 p.m.
