Farnell, Kelly, Weitzel net goals for men’s lacrosse against No. 2 York

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College men's lacrosse team fell at home in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) game to the second-ranked York Spartans, 24-3.

Wesley scored their first goal of the game four minutes into the third quarter when Zach Farnell scored a goal following a faceoff violation by York.

Six minutes later, Wesley took advantage of an extra-man opportunity when Farnell found Zach Weitzel to covert the man-up goal.

Early in the fourth quarter, Joe Fingles pushed the ball up on a clear and found Leo Kelly in front of the goal to shoot a shot past the York goalkeeper for Wesley's third goal of the game.

On defense, Ben Mitzel and Joshua Short caused three turnovers. Mitzel added two ground balls. Joe Fingles, Ja'Ki Miles, William Poppe and Tyler Lingenfelder each scooped up two ground balls.

James Cella stopped 10 shots in the first three quarters of the game. Dylan Sicca and Bryce Haraldsen split the fourth quarter, and each made three saves in goal.

The Wolverines will be back in action on Saturday when they host the Frostburg St. Bobcats at 1 p.m.
