Men’s Lacrosse Falls To #1 Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. - Wesley College's men's lacrosse team fell to top-ranked Salisbury University, 24-3, in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night at Sea Gull Stadium.  The Wolverines are now 2-10 overall and 2-5 in the CAC.

Salisbury (14-0, 6-0 CAC) outscored Wesley 10-0 in the first period and tallied the first goal of the second before Drew Hammer got the Wolverines on the board at the 11:21 mark.  After another Sea Gull score, James Moss answered for Wesley but SU scored two straight to go into the half up, 14-2.

Erik Krum (7g, 2a) tallied a goal just 53 seconds into the third before Scott Brozey scored off a pass from Patrick Lipari with 13:01 left in the third, cutting the deficit to 15-3.  The Maroon & Gold record nine straight goals to close out the game.

Michael McQuarrie had a team-high nine ground balls and three caused turnovers for the Wolverines and won 5-of-10 faceoffs.  Jack O'Neil took 9-of-20 faceoffs for eight ground balls.  Ryan Morris also had a solid day on the defensive end, tallying two caused turnovers and four ground balls.

Matt Ryan and Sam Kennedy each played one half between the pipes.  Ryan made nine saves in the first half while Kennedy stopped seven shots in the second.

The Wolverines are back in action on Saturday, April 14, at 1:00 pm, when they travel to St. Mary's (Md.) in their CAC finale.
