Golf places sixth at Mary Washington

STAFFORD, Va. – The Wesley College golf team opened their spring season with a sixth-place finish at the two-day Eagle Invitational, hosted by the University of Mary Washington.

Tyler Spielberger tied for eighth place at the invitational, shooting nine-over-par with a two-day total of 151 to lead the Wolverines.

Josh Covey finished in a tie for 31st with a 162. Sean Creel and Ricky Mulloy shot a 169 and a 170 respectively while Kevin Polk rounded out the Wesley golfers with a 179.

As a team, the Wolverines shot a 649. York won the team title, shooting a 600 at the tournament.

The Wolverines will be back on the course next weekend when they take part in the two-day McDaniel Spring Invitational at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbotstown, Pa.
