Berry sets a new career-high against Eastern Mennonite

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Wesley College field hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to the Eastern Mennonite Royals in a non-conference game on Friday.

After falling behind 2-0 early, Wesley was able to cut the lead in half when Kristen Fuhr netted her second goal of the year in the 14th minute when she was able to score on a tough angle on the right side of the cage.

Eastern Mennonite was able to get the goal back and held off a second half Wesley charge.

Wesley was able to outshoot Eastern Mennonite 21-17 and 10-6 in the second half but were unable to find the back on the net.

Fuhr put five shots on net while Kaila Hindt recorded three shots on goal.

Lauren Berry stopped a career-high 12 shots in net for Wesley.

Kayla Maret, Rachel Breslin and Hannah Nichols each tallied a goal for Eastern Mennonite.

The Wolverines (4-3) will be back in action on Sunday at noon when they finish up their trip to Virginia when they take on the Shenandoah Hornets.
