Wesley Football finalizes 2019 schedule

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College football team finalized their schedule for the 2019 regular season. Wesley will play six road contests and four games at home.

Wesley will open the 2019 slate with a three-game road trip. The Wolverines will begin the season on Saturday, Sept. 7 in Rindge, New Hampshire when they take on Division II Franklin Pierce Ravens. The Ravens' inaugural game kicks off at 12 p.m.

Wesley then travels to Doylestown, Pa. on Sept. 14 when they battle their non-conference rival Delaware Valley with a 1 p.m. start. The following week, Wesley will wrap up their three-game season-opening road trip in Beverly, Mass. when they clash with the Endicott Gulls on Sept. 21 at 1 p.m.

Following a bye week, Wesley will open their New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) schedule when they host the Rowan Profs at Drass Field on Oct. 5. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

Wesley hits the road again the following two Saturdays when they take on the Salisbury Sea Gulls on Oct. 12 in the Route 13 rivalry then heads north to New Jersey on Oct. 19 to face the William Paterson Pioneers. Both games will start at 1 p.m.

For the second consecutive year, Wesley will welcome the Montclair St. Redhawks for Homecoming. The game is scheduled for Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. Wesley will honor the Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2019 and the Homecoming Court at halftime of the Montclair St. game.

After their final road game of the season in Ewing, N.J. at TCNJ on Nov. 2 at 12 p.m., Wesley will wrap up the regular season with a pair of home games against the Kean Cougars on Nov. 9 and the Christopher Newport Captains on Nov. 16. The final two games of the season will kick off at 1 p.m.

Since joining the NJAC as an affiliate member in 2015, Wesley has won the NJAC Championship in three of the four seasons in the conference. In 2018, Wesley continued their streak of 14 consecutive postseason appearances with a win in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Clayton Chapman Bowl against Westminster.
