Four named D3football.com All-East Region

DOVER, Del. – Four Wesley College football players were named to the D3football.com All-East Region team, as announced on Tuesday.

For the first time in his career, senior wide receiver Alex Kemp was selected on an All-Region team. Kemp was named to the All-East Region First Team after leading the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) in receiving yards (1,090), receptions (63) receiving touchdowns (11) and receiving yards per game (99.1).

Kemp registered six games with over 100 yards receiving in a game and finished his career as the third receiver in Wesley history to surpass the 3,000 receiving yard mark in a career.

Junior running back E.J. Lee and junior kick returner Corterris Simpson landed spots on the All-East Region Second Team.

Lee led the NJAC in total touchdowns (13) and rushing touchdowns (12). He finished second in the conference in all-purpose yards (1,341), rushing yards (952) and rushing yards per game (86.5). Lee eclipsed 100 rushing yards in a game five times during the season.

It was the second time Lee earned All-Region honors after being named to the first team in 2017.

The NJAC Special Teams Player of the Year, Simpson leads the nation in punt return average (29.0). Simpson finished eighth in the NJAC in all-purpose yards (96.5).

Senior safety Cappadonna Miller earned All-East Region Third Team honors for the second time in his career. Miller ranked 10th in the NJAC in tackles (74) and tied for 12th in interceptions (3).

The teams, selected in balloting by East Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 328 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 78 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 14, in D3football.com's pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLV.
