DOVER, Del. – Five Wesley College football players were named to the 2017 D3football.com All-East Region teams.

Senior offensive tackle Matt Gono was the lone Wesley representative on the All-East Region First Team. A Gagliardi Trophy semifinalist and a Consensus Preseason All-American, Gono helped paved the way for the best offense in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and five All-NJAC players in 2017. One of the best offensive linemen in the country, regardless of division, scouts from all 32 NFL teams have been to Wesley's campus to see Gono play.

Gono is a three-time First Team D3football.com All-East Region honoree and All-NJAC First Team award winner, two-time Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Star and was a D3football.com All-America member in 2015.

Senior linebacker Samer Manna, sophomore running back E.J Lee and freshman defensive end Stefon Woodruff were named to the All-East Region Second Team.

Manna led the Wolverines and finished second in the NJAC in tackles with 112 in 2017. He also notched 10.5 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, four passes defended, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two quarterback hurries and a sack.

This is the second time Manna has been named to the All-East Region Second Team. He is also a two-time ECAC All-Star.

The NJAC Offensive Player of the Year, Lee rushed for 1,582 yards and scored 22 rushing touchdowns to lead the NJAC. Lee also caught 26 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns. He ranks fifth in Division III in rushing touchdowns and seventh in rushing yards.

Woodruff led the Wolverines in tackles for loss (19.0) and sacks (12.0). He recorded 53 tackles, five quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Woodruff also received NJAC and ECAC Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Junior safety Cappadonna Miller collected Third Team All-East Region laurels after picking off five passes, tied for third-most in the NJAC. Miller also collected 82 tackles to rank second on the Wolverines.

The teams, selected in balloting by East Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 321 nominations by Division III member schools. A total of 77 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 15, in D3football.com's pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLV.
