DOVER, Del. – Wesley College senior William Foster was named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District 2 First Team, which is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Foster is an accounting and business administration major with a 3.87 grade-point average at Wesley. A multiple-time Dean's List and President's List student, Foster is a member of Sigma Beta Delta International Business Honor Society and the Accounting Society. He is a two-time honoree on the Capital Athletic Conference All-Academic Team and a Spring 2018 member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll.
On the field, Foster is tied atop the Atlantic East Conference leaderboard for doubles with 13. Foster also ranks second in the conference in batting with a .407 average and third in on-base percentage reaching base at a .496 clip. He leads the Wolverines with a .558 slugging percentage, 46 hits and 15 extra-base hits. Also in 2019, Foster tallied 23 runs scored, 21 runs batted in and two triples.
Foster is Wesley baseball's second CoSIDA Academic All-District recipient after Morgan Rupp was named to the First Team in 2012.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at thier current institution and be nominated by their sports information director.
Foster advances to the national ballot with the Google Cloud Academic All-America teams slated to be announced on June 4.
