Seibert, Marrs earn All-CAC honors

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Senior Wesley College baseball players Chris Seibert and Alex Marrs were named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) teams on Tuesday.

Seibert was tabbed as an All-CAC First Teamer for the second time in his career. Seibert led the CAC in hitting (.475), on-base percentage (.552) and slugging percentage (.850). He also placed third in the conference in home runs (10), seventh in runs batted in (43) and tied for seventh in doubles.

During the season, Seibert was honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) as the Player of the Week three times, was named CAC Player of the Week on March 19 and D3baseball.com Team of the Week on March 20.

Marrs earned All-CAC Second Team accolades for the second time this season. Marrs ranked sixth in the CAC in strikeouts (68) with a 3-3 record and a save. He recorded a three-hit shutout against CAC runner-up Penn St.-Harrisburg on April 5 and struck out 14 against Christopher Newport on April 28.

Marrs was twice named CAC Pitcher of the Week and picked up ECAC Pitcher of the Week honors on April 10.

It is the third consecutive year that the Wesley baseball team had multiple players earn All-CAC awards.
