DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College baseball team fell to the Misericordia Cougars, 9-1 at home on Tuesday.

Offensively, John Joines led the way with a three-hit day in the loss. Kevin Schmitt and Cody Dmiterchik all tallied two hits in four trips to the bat for Wesley.

Schmitt collected the lone extra-base hit of the game for the Wolverines with a double down the left field line to start the bottom of the third inning. He came around to score when Jarrett Wallace reached on a fielder's choice to the second baseman that allowed Schmitt to score from third base.

Ryan Devine struck out two batters and only allowed a hit in relief for Sam Meck. Connor Springsteen sat down three of the five batters he faced on strikes in 1.2 innings of work.

The Wolverines are back in action Friday, March 16 when they travel to Immaculata, Pa. to do battle with the Immaculata Mighty Macs. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
