DANBURY, Conn. – Senior outfielder Trey Mears was named the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Division III Player of the Week for the second consecutive week on Tuesday.
Mears hit .375 with three home runs, 10 runs batted in, six runs scored and three stolen bases during Wesley's run in the CAC Tournament. Mears reached base at a .474 clip and slugged .938 for the week. Mears tallied a home run in six of Wesley's last eight games and has reached base in 34 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Mears holds the highest single-season batting average in Wesley's history with a .500 average. Mears also has the most doubles in a career (46) in Wesley history and is tied for the most hits in a career (222).
As of the last NCAA stat report, Mears leads Division III in batting average, hits and stolen bases.
